Does the Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department recognize emerging sports?

Due to the rise of many new sports events in recent years, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department has opened up the following six stadiums for pilot projects to ensure the healthy development of diversified sports activities from October 9, 2019. Hong Kong citizens can now use The "Recreation Link" system can be used to make reservations. Personal reservations and first-come-first-served basis can be used to book the home facilities during non-peak hours for ten days for the following seven emerging activities: including dodge ball, dodge disk, kick ball, and croquet , Qiaogu, Pickle and Goalball.

康文署推出「新興體育活動資助先導計劃」，支持新興體育項目的發展，為市民提供更多選擇，鼓勵大家多參與體育運動。　　

先導計劃是根據「體育資助計劃」全面檢討的建議而推出。康文署負責管理「體育資助計劃」，向體育總會及體育機構提供資助。康文署於2019至20年度就「體育資助計劃」進行全面的檢討，提出多項建議和改善措施，以進一步推動香港體育的全面發展。全面檢討報告建議應為新興體育活動提供政府資助，好讓市民有更多機會和選擇參與不同種類的運動。因此，政府推行先導計劃，並制定一套有別於現時「體育資助計劃」的新撥款模式，推廣和支持本地新興體育活動的發展。
